A CERTIFICATION COURSE IN ENERGY THERAPY

Humans are spiritual beings having human experiences. The essence of our life force is energy. There is a new movement in contemporary medicine and psychology to access the ancient arts of healing through our energy fields. There are many emerging modalities of healing. Our Energy Therapy Certification combines the teaching of four modalities to support energy healing through the Body, Mind, Emotions and Spirit. Three Core courses plus one elective course are required for certification. The four courses may be taken as a full sequence, or each course may be taken independently. Both lead to an HCH Certification in Energy Therapy.

The three required Core courses follow:

REIKI is an ancient hands on healing technique that focuses the universal life-force energy known by many names: "Ki", "Chi", "Prana", "Light", or "Love Manifest." The trainings involve receiving "attunements" that are the transference of Reiki energy and Reiki symbols from the teacher into the energy field and hands of the student so his or her energy system is open to the flow of the Reiki energy. The student learns how to give hands on treatments to himself and others. Treatments are given with clothes on and are appropriate and effective to combine with hypnotherapy sessions. Reiki is useful for stress reduction, physical, emotional, and spiritual healing and for pain management. The lineage of this Reiki training comes from the Dr. Usui method. Our certification includes the first two of four levels of Reiki training resulting in preparation to be a Reiki practitioner. Students wishing to be certified as a Master Reiki Teacher may take the two advanced levels of training as an elective course.

EMOTIONAL FREEDOM TECHNIQUE or "EFT" is a simple to use but highly effective body "tapping" technique that is revolutionizing conventional therapeutic thought and astonishing many who use it. The premise behind EFGT comes from the research of Dr. Roger Callahan: The cause of all negative emotion is a disruption in the energy system. EFT is a systematic process that straightens out the energy system. Imagine experiencing quick, effective freedom from negative emotions, anxiety, limiting beliefs, inability to express love, years of doubt, grief, intense fears, phobias, addictive cravings and depression. EFT works effectively on all of these and many other of life's challenges. Any one can use it. It is simple to learn, easy to use and you can do it on yourself or with family or friends. Knowing EFT is incredibly valuable for therapist, hypnotherapists and anyone in the healing profession. In this course you will learn about the essence of EFT, the EFT technique, how to use the technique effectively, including shortcut techniques, the impact of energy toxins and how to get to the underlying aspects of a problem.

ENERGY BOUNDARIES FOR HEALERS and CHAKRA CLEARING
Energy boundaries are very important for healers. The more we open to allowing healing energy to flow freely through us the more our intuitive centers open as well, and we sometimes find ourselves feeling our clients emotions, hearing unspoken thoughts and knowing specific information. As a result, it is important to cultivate practices that help us stay oriented to our own energy system, so we can clearly see the energy that we may be picking up from others. Part of our role as healer is to release and transform negative energy patterns in others. However, if we dont have a strong understanding of our own energy system, what its like to be in our own authentic energy, we can easily become enmeshed with our clients thoughts, feelings and attitudes which can lead to overwhelm, burnout, and health problems for the healer. As we evolve and tune into subtler levels, part of being energetically responsible means learning "energetic hygiene" - how to transform and release negative energy so that it can be reassigned to higher vibrations. Negative energy is not the enemy, often times it has valuable information to share with us. But as healers we must first learn ways to distinguish what is ours and what our is clients. We are the starting point and hold the intention for all healing that happens in our space. Therefore, every healer can benefit from learning how to keep their self and environment energetically clear. These techniques are easy to learn and use, and can also be taught to your clients. In this class we will explore tools to keep your energy field clear before and after working with a client, how to hold the highest frequency possible during a session to attune and transform your clients energy, and ways to raise your own vibrational levels.

Chakra clearing works with the major chakras or energy centers that overlap and integrate the Body-Mind. The chakra system is ancient and well known among certain Eastern traditions such as Yoga. Each chakra tends to be primarily related to certain organs and life issues. Physical and emotional traumas create pain and therefore a negative energetic "charge" in the associated centers, which can then become blocked or unable to function fully because fresh life force (chi, energy, light) is unable to flow freely through the centers. By using an energy psychology approach you will learn how to use gentle touch to clear past trauma and its symptoms by clearing the negative "charge" from the associated chakra. This technique works well for self-healing as well as for client work. This class is designed to give you a foundational understanding of the chakras, how to sense their energies and work with them in yourself and your clients.

The following are the elective courses. One is required for certification.

REIKI MASTER TEACHER TRAINING is an elective in the Energy Certification courses. Reiki I and II are prerequisites. We recommend the Reiki practitioner have at least six months of Reiki experience before taking this Reiki Master Teacher Training. Holly Holmes-Meredith, Reiki Master Teacher, teaches this course.

INTEGRATING ENERGY THERAPIES INTO YOUR PRACTICE
This course is for practitioners using hypnotherapy and psychotherapy who want to integrate process-oriented energy therapy work into their session. You will learn two approaches. The first is a "Go with what is happening" technique that is used with the Neuro-Tech, an auditory and kinesthetic electronic aid to balancing the right and left brain hemisphere and to creating an altered state. Combining the Neuro-Tech with a simple "Be here now" approach to hypnosis can energetically clear trauma, limiting beliefs, pain, and negative emotions. This technique is a blending of practicing presence, EMDR, and hypnotherapy.
The second technique is a hands-on self-healing approach blending Reiki, visualization, and body energy awareness to physically and energetically release pain, emotional trauma, and blocks to wholeness. As a simple to use and easy to teach technique, clinicians can integrate into sessions and teach this hands-on energy therapy to clients or enjoy using this effective technique on themselves.

EFT II: BEYOND THE BASICS
This 12 hour course taught by Carolyn Rigiero is for those who have received their EFT-I certification, EFT-CC on-line, or have used EFT extensively and successfully on themselves or clients, even without certification. (Before joining the class, please check with the facilitator if you dont have certification). It follows the EFT approved level II guide lines listed on Gary Craigs website, emofree.com. This course is a true advantage for any therapist who wishes to go beyond the basics and learn new tapping methods, new tapping points, using EFT with couples, EFT and the telephone, finding core issues, addressing physical ailments, testing, delivering EFT in groups and more. Each class will include practice sessions with feed back from other students and the facilitator. When you have finished, you will have gained a greater understanding of, and a greater respect for, the power of EFT.

Holly Holmes-Meredith, MA, MFT, Master Reiki Teacher, CCHT, Doctrate of Ministry Candidate
Holly works with energy healing as an adjunct to her practice in psychotherapy and hypnotherapy. She is the Clinical Director and primary instructor in the hypnotherapy and Reiki Trainings at HCH. Holly has been teaching Reiki for seven years. Holly has been a student and practitioner of EFT since she was introduced to EFT in 1998. Holly combines these energy healing techniques with psychotherapy and hypnotherapy in her private practice. Holly teaches the EFT, Reiki and Integrating Energy Therapy into your Practice courses.

Megan Woolever, MA, CCHT, Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist
Megan is a Holistic Healing Practitioner in San Francisco. She has been studying and working with energy healing in its various forms pretty much all her life, having been healed of a serious childhood illness through the laying on of hands and healing prayer. A Certified Energy Healer, Reiki Master Teacher, Clinically Certified Hypnotherapist, Chi Nei Tsang (Internal Organ Massage) Practitioner, Life Coach, Spiritual and Intuitive Guide, Massage practitioner and Certified Somatic Therapist Megan also holds a Masters degree in Ethics and Social Theory. Her approach to teaching is based upon the philosophy that the best learning happens when we are encouraged to be curious, explore our own inner wisdom and experiment without judgment. Our life experience is often the best classroom we have! Having a background in theater and performance art also helps to infuse her classes with playfulness, joy and laughter. Abba Anderson, MS, MA, Master Reiki Teacher, CCHT
Abba is a Reiki Master Teacher, hypnotherapist, and professional writer with a master's degree in Oriental medicine. Practicing Reiki is a special part of Abba's life, and she feels blessed to share this simple, accessible practice with her students. Abba's acupuncture school classmates humorously voted her "most likely to have a patient levitating three feet above the table," and while you may not experience exactly that in her Reiki classes, you're likely to experience something equally as magical - not because of Abba, she's quick to point out, but because Reiki is such a loving, magical, transformative practice.

Carolyn Rigiero, Advanced Certification in EFT, CCHT
After a serious illness in 2002, she was introduced to Bio-feedback, which became the bridge to hypnotherapy and EFT. She earned her Clinical Certification in Hypnotherapy from HCH in February 2006. She became a devotee of EFT during a hypnotherapy class after her instructor applied EFT on her to avert a migraine. The results were amazing and she was hooked. She shares this amazing process with her clients at HCH.
